Windows are things we all too easily take for granted, things that are simply 'there', just part of the fabric of what makes up a home or workplace. But they are so much more besides the physical properties of wood, metal and glass. They are reminders to us of the world beyond the small patch of earth we occupy day to day. The horizon we can see through them calls to us in the hope we will break free from our routine and journey out to meet it, even if only for a short while. Digital file is 15116 x 8503 pixels and is a montage of 98 windows photographed inside ruins or historic places over the last 10 years of my Forgotten Heritage photography project.
