The Calf

When I was a young child, my grandfather wanted to teach me responsiblity. So My Grandfather came one day and picked me up from my house and said I have a surprise for you back at the farm. Naturally, him saying he had a surprise for me filled me with so much excitement, I was thrilled and wonderous in my mind thinking what it could be. When we arrived at his Farm he lead me out to his fartherest barn and took me to a cattle shute in the Barn and in there was the most beautiful baby Calf, so pretty with its light brown and white cape. I fell in Love with that Calf and he became my best friend at this age. I made sure every day to take care of the Calf, I dont think I ever missed one feed time. Even when I wasnt feeding the calf I could take the Calf out in an open field and he would stay by my side and follow me. I never had to worry about him running off or anything that is how good our bond was. Unfortunately, one day I came to feed him and somehow the Calf got sick with BVD and it wasn't long my best friend had passed away and I was Heart broken. It took me a while as a kid to get passed it, but fortunately I was able to finally move on and to Understand Life's process a little better to grasp the understanding of death better. Now Im able to Celebrate and Honor him with this Portrait, to display to the world the cutest Calf ever, Buddy Brown.
