She no longer looks at herself; she looks at her fragments. Each shard of the broken mirror has captured a piece of her face: eyes that still weep, lips that no longer smile, and trembling fingers that hesitantly try to put the pieces back together… but every time one is placed in its spot, another falls away. Her own heavy shadow spreads behind her like a living thing; not merely the absence of light, but the presence of something darker, something that swallows each broken piece more deeply and erases her face within itself. A shadow that is neither shelter nor enemy; only a silent reminder that nothing “whole” exists anymore. Against a background of absolute blackness, only a cold, merciless light reflects from the sharp edges of the glass; a light that illuminates the wounds but heals nothing. This portrait is the moment the soul stands before its own shadow; when you can no longer escape yourself, when all that remains are the broken pieces of the person who was once “you”… and your shadow, quietly and without a sound, swallows them one by one.
