What is a bridge? We cross a bridge to get from one place to another, but bridges do so much more than physically transport us through space. Crossing the bridge when we come to it means not wasting time on problems that may never happen. We bridge the gap when we want to create connection by finding common ground. When we push it, that's a bridge too far. And everyone knows that gullible people are susceptible to buying bridges. When water passes under the bridge, we have no choice but to accept it. We build bridges to create a connection; and we burn bridges to destroy connections. A bridge over troubled water is a hand of support during a difficult time in your life, offering you safe haven.
This bridge connects two shores of a lake at an artist residency in the French countryside. The act of crossing it signifies my growth as an artist. The photo itself is a bridge towards self-acceptance, awareness and confidence. It is a bridge between the old me, and the new me.
