Teyolia and Tonali

According to the Nahuas, the human being is composed of three entities: the physical body, the teyolia (the soul) and the tonalli (vital energy). Teyolia is considered the essence of the person, their soul or spirit, while tonalli is the energy that animates the body and gives it life.
