Texture isn't some eye-catching add-on, a supplement to the scene. Texture is the thing itself, the subatomic come to call, an expression of ratios of atoms, trapped in geometric lockstep, shining forth as granules, crystals, streaks, and sand. Texture isn't a triviality; texture is everything.
