Work Description Technology continuously shapes, fragments, and commodifies our personal and collective identities. This was my introduction to a new tool for identity creation. The Paintbox was the only tool I used.
Artist Statement I stumbled upon the Paintbox at NFT Paris and decided to try it. The experience was surprisingly straightforward, with more capabilities than anticipated. Drawing with the tethered stylus on the large pad felt more like carving into ancient digital stone than the zero-stakes experience of doodling anytime, anywhere on an iPad or similar tablet.
Paintboxed - Tezos World Tour This artwork has been created during the Paintboxed-Tezos World Tour 2024-2025 (Chateau du Fey Villecien, Miami, Paris, Zurich, New York) on an original Quantel Paintbox from the archive of Adrian Wilson and is part of the exhibition "Paintboxed", curated by Georg Bak and Adrian Wilson at The Digital Art Mile, Basel, Switzerland, June 16-22, 2025.
