This piece was born from an archive I was going to delete.
An unstable fragment of memory captured between Cuba, suspended in a distance that is not geographical but emotional.
I walk between two shores, and in that transit the image fails. It becomes corrupted. It fragments. It goes out of focus. Like me.
I didn't want to repair the archive.
I decided to listen to it.
The glitch is not an effect: it is the scar of migration.
Pixelation is not aesthetic: it is the way memory protects itself when it cannot hold everything.
In this work, I position myself as a self-referential reference. I don't appear frontally, but I am in every distortion. I am the body that walks, the shadow that disappears in the dampness, the metadata that doesn't match the real location. I am the creator and the damaged archive.
This piece is presented as an experimental NFT video, an unstable loop where the image breathes and slowly degrades. There is no beginning or end. The work fluctuates like a weak signal. Interference, poorly exported layers, information that emerges and disappears. Digital compression becomes part of the discourse: each render is a minimal loss of memory.
The NFT here doesn't function as a speculative object, but as a permanent archive.
This work speaks of forgetting, but also of resistance:
even if the image is corrupted, it persists.
even if the file fails, it exists.
even if I am between two territories, I remain the point of reference.
