tempo velho

"Tempo Velho" 2021 Acrylic Painting, 18x24

this painting was inspired by a Brazilian song called "Tempo Velho" that salutes the entities of light 'Pretos Velhos' worshiped in the Afro-Brazilian religions a bit of its translation

"I almost didn't see anything, no I feel myself inside But the thought Can't be locked away So much to lose So much to bleed So you can walk Put on these leaves, bathe yourself, bless yourself Pray for the soul, give thanks three Hail Marys Walk the path of goodness and remember That the most beautiful world is only in tiny stone"
