Temperanza

This piece is created by taking the “Temperance” Tarot card as a starting point and adding my perspective on it, while also infusing it with the energy of concrete experiences I treasure and that align with the deep meaning of the card. The piece is realized by layering different images: digital photo, co-creation with Dalle3 + Midjourney and digital drawing. I love how putting together different materials contributes to express the armony and complexity of the Tarot card. Temperance is a card that can help us to find a path to healing and that is why at the base of this collage there is a picture from the Saturnia natural hot spring, in Tuscany 🇮🇹: according to legend Saturn, the God of peace and abundance, lost his patience with the constant war of men so he hurled a thunderbolt at the ground there and hot sulfurous water came out. It flowed through valleys and plains quietening the humans’ temperaments. This was the start of a golden age dedicated to agriculture and love. For the center piece depicting the girl in the water with the vessels I asked Copilot to describe for me the image of the Temperance card from a traditional Tarot deck and then gave that text to Midjourney to start working with. I believe healing comes from collaborating and sharing, healing comes from how a community pulls energy, resources and practices. So I think that working with the AI can alling with that if we can see how the AI is infact fed by images of many many people and it is educated by how many other (or the same) people use it. How we choose to move among these levels can truly make a difference, the difference between medicine and poison.
