Tekton - ancient Greek word referring to an artisan or craftsman, often specifically to a builder and or architect.
The fifth piece in a series that began as an evolution of an experiment involving a well-known brand of toy building bricks. Here, these are viewed isometrically and arranged to create interesting massing and pseudo-architectural compositions. This iteration introduces experimentation with simple massing forms created by playing with subtle offsets and scaling governed loosely by the Silver Ratio (1:1.414).
With this exploration, more of an attempt has been made to create a circulation that could be navigated, however much of the composition is still structurally. As with previous entries to this series, viewers are invited to try to 'make sense' of the arrangement regardless.
Additionally, subtle print texture and design imperfections have been left in as a means to offset the highly geometric nature of the composition.
