Takht Suleiman, with a history of more than 3 thousand years, was known by different names in each period. In fact, this was an ancient and holy city for Iranians before Islam and in different periods it was the place of residence of tribes such as the Medes, Achaemenians, Parthians, Sasanians and Mongols, but this region experienced the peak of power during the Sasanian period. The historical works in Takht Suleiman complex indicate that this place dates back to the Paleolithic period, Iron Age 1, 2 and 3, and includes signs of people settling in Takht Suleiman during the Scythians, Manas, Medes, Achaemenids and Parthians. The remains of a residential village in the northwest of the lake is one of these cases, which according to research is related to the Achaemenid period. Takht Suleiman's other name is Shiz, and some say that Shiz is the birthplace of Zoroaster, but the opinions of historians are contradictory in this regard.
Others believe that the name of Solomon's throne is not derived from Prophet Solomon and they put the name of the Jewish king named Solomon on it. Some historians say that the construction of this complex and its fire temple was done at the request of the famous Sassanid king, Bahram Gur, and over the years it was developed by other Sassanid kings. But unfortunately, in 624 AD, when the Roman Empire attacked Iran, the Sassanid capital and the Sassanid government were destroyed, and there has been no prosperity since then.
