What happens when you mix SAY and WET in a word zipper? Why, you get SWEATY of course! Is it coincidence that the word WET is within the word SWEATY? I find it interesting when words have words within them that reference themselves in some way or another. If memory serves me correctly, the main word is called a kangaroo word and the inner word is referred to as a joey word; intimating how a momma kangaroo carries her baby joey in her marsupial pouch. I love this as a metaphor for wordplay. Other kangaroo words are: history/story, acrid/acid, action/act, and many, many others. Random fun fact time! In the 1950s, Ben O'Dell discovered/popularized kangaroo words as a fun wordplay in an article in 'The American Magazine'.
