WGM Blog series // Every time the heat rises, it makes me miss summers in Washington Heights. There was a certain mood in the air when June rolled up and school was finishing, no matter how much I’ve experienced as an adult, it still doesn’t compare to any other place. Running around with a couple of bucks in your pocket landed you snacks and drinks for the day, we had fire hydrants blasting, that lady selling churros and mangos on a stick on 181st by the Woolworths. Everyone somehow knew each other and it felt like one big family. You’d hear “yo lo vi a el por el teatro con unos amiguitos” and all that.
