Studiotopia

Inspired by Ralph Steadman’s Paranoids, Studiotopia is an exploration and meditation on the creative process.

In 1985, Steadman was holidaying in a small town in Turkey, called Turkbuku. Having been experimenting with a polaroid camera, he noticed that the emulsion between the layers of film in the photo stayed soft enough for him to be able to manipulate with a blunt pencil (a sharp pencil would pierce the film) until the image set. Thus, the Paranoid was born.

James Alec Hardy in turn has used his own image creation and manipulation techniques, using analog video equipment to take a voyage of discovery through Steadman’s studio and beyond. It is a fascinating, stimulating and unique collaboration and we are excited to have the first Steadman animated NFT on the Tezos Blockchain.
