Stepping Stone- a means of progress or advancement.

Fitting title for this image I think, as I was tutoring an astro workshop in the stunning Mackenzie District of New Zealand’s South Island when taken.

There’s something so incredibly rewarding about teaching my craft. From watching the clients excitement as the Milky Way shows itself in all its glory on the back of the camera for the first time, to getting their images up on screen for the magic that is editing. You can literally see them catch the astro bug right before your very eyes and it’s right then, that I really know that I’ve done my job and done it well.

But it’s not just a job for me. It’s about connecting with like-minded creatives, building friendships and being that stepping stone to the next part of their photography journey. A journey that I am just so stoked to be a part of, all while finding my own way among the stars, forever learning and eternally grateful that I have finally found my calling.
