Before I got into photography, I came across a photo of the Milky Way that inspired me to capture the Galactic Core of The Milky Way of my own. It was my motivation to start using a DSLR.
Despite Nature’s Window being one of the most visited attractions in Western Australia, I can confidently say that no one has captured it quite like this.
There’s no doubt it is a beautiful spot, the colour & texture of the rock make it well worth the drive but no matter what I tried with the lighting the colours appeared washed out and bland.
Frustrated, I decided to capture a self-portrait to convey the feeling of sitting in the window looking out at the stunning night sky instead. To create a small glow around me I experiment using the light on my phone & BOOM! This was my debut on winning National photography awards.
It doesn’t matter how grand our dreams seem, if we put in the effort & work it’s achievable.
