Digital Painting of the Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, an Orthodox church in Red Square of Moscow, popularly known as St Basil's Cathedral .
The artwork originated with a pen and ink line drawing of the cathedral, one of a number of studies I made of Red Square, both as personal and commissioned artwork, over a ten year period.
In this piece, the drawing uses abstraction to emphasize the impact of the colours and style of the cathedral and the relationship between the varying styles of architecture in Moscow. I have long been fascinated with this city and this piece was one I particularly enjoyed and spent a good amount of time on.
The winner of the primary auction of this NFT will also get a signed print of the artwork, shipped worldwide, up to 50 x 70cm in size.
