I've long believed that time spent in nature is never wasted.
Nature is where I feel most at home and where my curiosity is most satisfied. It's where I find those moments to simply let my mind idle and my thoughts wander. Which, in today's attention-seeking world is a rare gift indeed.
This photograph was made one late summer evening on the quiet banks of Loch Awe in Scotland, and represents one of those particular moments in life.
As I sat quietly looking out over the calm water, my eye was initially drawn to the small stack of clouds slowly forming on the other side of the loch. I then noticed the solitary rock in the foreground that somewhat sat in contrast to the hazy cloud filled sky.
The scene seemed to me, to illustrate a journey through life. The rock representing where we are today, and the line of clouds showing a yet untravelled path into the unknown.
Together it create what I think is a fine black & white photograph worthy of any collection.
