The Lone Tree of Wanaka has stood the test of time for over 80 years happily passing each day watching the mountains from it's roots embedded in Lake Wanaka.
The once not so famous tree started life as a farmers fence post along the lakes edge and over time grew into one of the most recognised and photographed trees of our time.
I was lucky enough to spend time with this tree before it became overly popular, so my time here in synchronized solitude with the tree brings me happy memories.
And I see it as a true reminder that it's ok to stand out and be different.
