Smallest Scale-3 Structure

This diagram is a part of my paths art project, specifically the subproject with the goal of facilitating paths that can split and combine to reach different scales. I recently resumed work on this project after a multi-year hiatus, thanks to some unexpected health improvements!

The layout of square tiles in this diagram represents the simplest, smallest possible tile layout which can facilitate a scale-3 structure -- meaning (2^3)=8 different paths combining into one large path (and then splitting back up into 8 component paths).
