Slow fire burning

Slow fire burning in my heart, yearning for you, for your voice, for your touch. You, who gave me life, took care of me, loved me unconditionally and made me who I am now. You’ll be in my heart forever.

This piece is made in honor of my mom, whom I lost a year ago. Losing her was the hardest thing I ever had to endure. After overcoming depression and anxiety, I decided to use my artwork and dedicate a tribute to her.

I used my painting ‘slow fire’ as the base for this piece. The physical painting is oil on canvas, 80 x 100 cm and was made in 2018. During the animation, the digital pixels eventually cover the handmade pixels (color patches). Once the digital pixels start to fade away, my mom’s face will appear. Through this animation; I’m trying to express my deepest desire and longing to see her, hear her and touch her again.

The NFT is an edition limited to 20 mints. Each edition includes a print of the physical painting on aquarelle paper, of 40 x 50 cm. These prints will also be augmented with AR through the Artivive app. Furthermore, as a special gift and honor, one lucky collector of the 20 editions will win the physical oil painting.
