Sky Fire

Colorado is a diverse state for landscape photography. This sunrise was shot near the Great Sand Dunes. The foliage was in peak bloom and appeared as a radiant yellow. As I waited for the sunrise, I noticed the sky over the mountains started to glow. All of a sudden the entire sky looked as though it was on fire. It was gone just as fast as it started. That's what I love about photography; capturing fleeting moments in time.
