Great Smoky Mountains National Park is my favorite place to explore. It's a beautifully diverse park filled with various locations to find. However, there's something evil lurking in the woods. An invasive beetle has been killing the spruce-fir trees that are native to the area leaving behind skeletons and graveyards of previously lush forests. It's a sad reality of the park. For this shot, I wanted to match the somber tone of the dead trees with the black and white foggy mood of the morning.
