This photograph was taken on a quiet winter afternoon, when sunlight gently filtered through the stained-glass windows of a historic cathedral, bathing the columns, arches, and gilded altar in a soft golden glow. It was captured using a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with a 35mm f/1.4 lens, manually adjusted to preserve the most authentic play of light and texture. Settings included ISO 400, shutter speed 1/100 sec, and aperture f/2.8 to create a shallow depth of field and draw the viewer’s focus toward the heart of the composition.
My intention in capturing this moment was to reflect the sacred stillness flowing between light and stone—that fleeting instant when time seems to pause. Nothing was staged; everything remained just as it was—raw, pure, and profoundly present.
