Shine On

Photography, like life, is a practice of observing and pressing the shutter when a moment emerges. A photograph captures a moment in time forever. On this afternoon, I had been sitting for hours in a vast sand dune landscape with sweeping wind. Conditions were awful. I finally decided to pack up. As I was zipping up my bag, I noticed that there was a tiny glimmer of hope as the sun was peaking through the approaching storm clouds. Literally diving back into position, I set up my camera to snap this photo at just the right time before the sun disappeared again.
