The biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego describes 3 men who were thrown into a furnace for refusing to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar.

Shadrach and Co. retells this story using photos taken of workers in a salt mine in India. I've elevated them to celestial beings. Embers from the furnace dance around but true to the story, they remain unharmed. This piece is a meditation on what is possible when we establish strong belief systems -- religious or otherwise.
