ARTPHRENIA — A MANIFESTO
Artphrenia is not a project conceived by strategy. It is the natural consequence of a fractured cognitive landscape.
It emerges from neurodivergence, ADHD, depression, and from inhabiting a non-binary identity in a world structured by rigid categories. It emerges from a life lived as multiplicity: actor, singer, drag performer, visual artist — never one role, always a transition.
Artphrenia is not an aesthetic choice. It is a neurological condition translated into artistic methodology.
Where coherence is expected, Artphrenia produces simultaneity. Where identity is expected to stabilize, Artphrenia insists on mutation.
The artist is not singular. The artist is a system of coexisting functions.
Contradiction is not resolved. It is allowed to operate.
Artphrenia functions as self-regulation.
In the absence of external stability — psychological, social, financial — the act of making becomes a therapeutic infrastructure.
Not therapy as healing. Therapy as survival technology.
Each work is a recalibration. Each image is a negotiation between internal noise and external pressure.
Artphrenia is often described as an escape. This assumes that reality is singular, stable, and shared.
Artphrenia questions this assumption.
If perception is already fragmented, then what is called “escape” may instead be alignment with a different layer of reality — one that is fluid, constructed, and continuously rewritten.
Art does not flee reality. It exposes its instability.
Artphrenia operates within a posthuman framework:
Identity is modular. The body is symbolic. Authorship is distributed. Emotion is processed through technological gestures.
Loops, glitches, repetitions, and mutations are not stylistic artifacts. They mirror the way cognition behaves under pressure, under acceleration, under digital mediation.
The human is no longer a fixed reference. It is an interface.
To exist outside normative structures — neurologically, economically, genderedly — is already a political condition.
Artphrenia does not illustrate politics. It embodies structural misfit.
It speaks from precarity, from marginal rhythms of labor, from survival economies, from bodies and minds that are asked to conform but cannot.
Artphrenia is not a series, nor a style, nor a closed identity.
It is a continuous state of translation: from sensation to form, from instability to structure, from fragmentation to production.
It does not seek resolution.
It seeks continuation.
Artphrenia is not about expressing the self. It is about constructing a system that allows the self to remain in motion.
