On the great southern island of Jabbokanan, where two great snow-capped mountain ranges almost converge, there is a wide pass. No one has ventured through the pass in generations. It is believed that the lands beyond are frozen and desolate. And the pass is said to be inhabited by hostile and uncouth peoples.
However, there are rumours of two great cities that lie beyond the mountains, one to the east and the other to the west. Three expeditions in living memory have taken the sea route around the southern edge of Jabbokanan. All three vanished without a trace, never to be heard from again. Now there is talk of another attempt to find these fabled cities. Instead of going overland, or risking the sea voyage in unfamiliar waters, this party of adventurers is building an airship. And they’ve almost raised all the funds they need to finish building it.
