Sails Unfurled

A sister image to Riggings at Rest, this photo shows the American Rover's sails unfurled to catch the wind. The American Rover is a three-masted topsail schooner that sets sail from the harbor of Norfolk, VA.

This piece was raffled to Collectors of the other photos from my "Maritime" series, which took a brief look at the structures we humans build to interact with the sea, whether from dry land, at water's edge, or on the open ocean.
