Sailors Take Warning

There’s a saying that goes, “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” This landscape in particular reminded me of a turbulent sea during a storm. The red rocks above were like an endless red sky over the waves with various textures in the storm clouds.

You see, if I ever have any trouble getting a composition I like, I will make up a story or relate the landscape to another place. Not only does it help me see things in a new way, but it also allows me to reframe a scene into something more personal.
