Safar e Nagar by Omer Gul

Safar e Nagar is my second 1/1 piece on foundation. Safar e Nagar means "Travel to Nagar".

Nagar is a former princely state and one of the ten districts of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.

The pyramid shaped peak in the center of the frame is Diran mountain 7,266-metre lying to the east of Rakaposhi in nagar valley of Karakoram mountain range.

I shot this image in July back in 2021 on a 3 day trek to Rakaposhi basecamp which starts from Minapin Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan.

This place has been captured by thousands of photographers over the years but I wanted to present a very fresh perspective.

After scouting for a while I found this tree and its spiral shaped bottom very interesting. It also looks like a python wrapping its' coils around it's prey.

As it was mid day, the light wasn't interesting at all but I am glad that I managed to capture the unique persepective of this beautiful valley of Nagar.
