role model
pale kirill, 2024 — on Foundation
Ed. 1/10
Description
The voices of NYC legends in my head.
The underground stars across the ocean that inspired me as a teenager. Style. Freedom.
The "role model" consists of the internal conflict between me, a kid immersed in 1990s-2000s hip-hop music on the one hand, and an orthodox Christian upbringing on the other.
The music of protest. Sunday services. Confrontation. What is good and what is bad.
Attempts to bring it all together in harmony.
Created for the NEW YORK NOW show, curated by ClownVamp.
