The image is a famous Safavid-era Persian miniature painting titled "Portrait of a Man" (also known as "Wine-Server" or "A Standing Youth with a Cup and a Bottle"), created by the renowned artist Reza Abbasi around 1600. Reza Abbasi (c. 1565–1635) was the leading Iranian miniaturist of the Isfahan School and the favorite court painter of Shah Abbas I. This work is an example of single-page compositions for albums (muraqqa), for which the artist is best known. The painting is executed in ink, opaque watercolor, and gold on paper. The subject is depicted in a naturalistic pose, holding a golden bottle and a small cup, highlighting the artist's mastery of fluid, expressive lines. The artwork is currently part of the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
