This image was inspired by the poem "The Rainbow" by Christiana Rossetti. As the poem goes:
Boats sail on the rivers, And ships sail on the seas; But clouds that sail across the sky Are prettier than these.
There are bridges on the rivers, As pretty as you please; But the bow that bridges heaven, And overtops the trees, And builds a road from earth to sky, Is prettier far than these.'
This poem represents the superior beauty of natural phenomenon compared to the beauty of man made structures. Christiana Rossetti was a large inspiration to my photography work. It was her poems, such as this, that truly made me appreciate nature to the fullest extent.
This image is 1 of 1, as it is my favorite piece in my collection.
