John Lennon, the Quarry man looms large in my imagination. We both attended the same infant school, high school & art college, but not at the same time of course (where my Mum also studied & my Dad taught). He was an enormous figure globally both culturally & politically. A profoundly pragmatic & wise observer of society; artist, poet, legend & hero of mine, I wish he was still with us❤️
One day in Hackney, London I looked out of my studio back window & Yoko was standing in the courtyard garden. Surprising but not without good cause, she was visiting her old friend, my next door neighbour the late Great artist Gustav Metzger, who as the initiator of auto-destructive art, taught Pete Townshend about smashing up The Who's instruments on stage..small world.
