A man sits down with a gun pointed at his head, a gun attached to a machine that measures a quantum particle's spin. The gun will either fire or not fire depending on the measurement.
The man nervously pulls the trigger. The gun clicks. He pulls the trigger on the gun once more. Click. The man will continue to pull the trigger over and over again, but the gun will not fire.
The gun didn’t fire. What makes you think he's still alive? Well, the man is both alive and dead, and is unaware of it.
"Quantum suicide" - In 1997, Princeton University theorist Max Tegmark posed the question for the first time.
If you consider you've had a near-death experience, it's likely that you died, but your consciousness was transferred to another universe.
