Pyre (2000)

One might assume that "Fluorescence[6]" (my famous glowing blue mushrooms) was favorite render of 2000. It certainly turned out to be one of my most enduring, but my favorite is probably this fun scene that I first posted on 4/3/2000, created using Lightwave[6], Poser3 and a very buggy particle effect plugin called "Genesis".

I had to animate the scene of course to get this look but I didn't have the computing power at the time to render animations at desktop resolution. I chose this one frame to feature.

I went on to use the Genesis/Lightwave to create "White Magic", and "The Summoning" before the developers went out of business and I could no longer use it.

Tragically, I also lost the scene files for this and many of my '99 - '00 Lightwave projects to a hard drive failure so I've never able to render them larger than this original 1600 x 1200.

That bugged me so much created a new "Pyre" in 2014. This lost project remains my personal favorite render from the year 2000.
