This photograph is part of my project "Peaceful but Grand", a series I started in 2020 in response to the Black Lives Matter protests across America. It was later commissioned by MTV for the 2020 Video Music Awards.

I wish everyone could see what I see when I see Black men. Tenderness, strength, vulnerability, poise.
