Pressure

An empty room. A hall of paintings. A single shape swaying faintly in her heels, as if they were balancing on the heads of pins. Paintings as metaphors for a world that makes sense to no one but their creator. No one can imagine what you are going through. Everyone else is dealing with their own monsters. There are people who want to push you under the water and watch you drown. You must build a boat to sail through the void and into the sunbeams shining on the other side of your imagination and dreams. If you fail, then don't fail by sea. Always fail on land and leave your friends with something they can hold onto, even after your gone.

The human figure metaphorically expresses the emptiness of and the physical weight of existence, as well as an individual’s constant struggle with conflicting forces. Recognize this empty shape in your own existence. You must empty yourself. Whatever fillers, crutches, and surrogate inspirations you have used up to now in your writing must be forgone.
