Manuel Tolsá Square (also Tolsá Square) is a rectangular-shaped square that is located in front of the old Tacuba Street, within the limits that form the first square of the Historic Center of Mexico City.
It is delimited, to the north, by the old Palace of the Ministry of Communications and Public Works, to the south by Calle de Tacuba and the imposing and majestic building of the Palacio de Minería, to the east an old building built in the 18th century, and to the west the Frenchified Marconi building. Towards the southwest part are the Callejón de la Condesa and the Postal Palace or Fifth Casa de Correos. The central part of this square is adorned by the equestrian statue of Equestrian Statue of Carlos IV, which people commonly know as "El Caballito".
