I carry a lot of baggage As the years pass on it gets heavier to carry Heavier to drag up the steep hills of life Sometimes the weight gets lighter But then eventually, the weight comes back new and different I wish I didn't have the baggage I wish I didn't have it feel so burdensome Yet every day, despite this I hike with it I set it down sometimes, unload it others Living with the baggage is familiar Facing the world and the people in it All carrying their own baggage; all hiking with it too The chemistry of the soul is defined by perseverance
