'People' is a retro inspired design and animation project I've been chipping away at for a little while now, and I’m proud to finally label it finished.
Conceptually, I decided to name this project ‘People’, because just like flesh and blood humans, each character has something that makes them different - their shape, size and movement. But their design principles are fundamentally the same.
For the poster designs I collaborated with Copywriter Kathryn Slater, whose beautiful words accompany the visuals:
Through a rainbow of humanity, Despite our many differences, We’re united in substance.
When we move, when we love, And put our differences aside, We shine in many colours.
The music was also composed by myself, inspired by the works of Mort Garson (more specifically, the album Mother Earth’s Plantasia), Hiroshi Yoshimura (Green), as well as the music from educational films from my school days, that we watch on a big TV carted out on wheels.
