PEEING PEPE 001 // VANILLAJS VERSION it is a browser-native interactive artwork about one of life’s simplest and most satisfying systems: pressure, release, relief, repeat.
Hold anywhere to relieve Pepe’s bladder. Drag to steer the stream. Birds react, clouds drift, expressions change, legs dance, satisfaction rises and the environment responds. Day becomes night. Relief becomes spectacle. A small local memory keeps count of what happened in your browser.
The work began on peeingpepe.neocities.org as a living web experiment while I was exploring ideas for XChain: persistent interaction, shared state, wallet-mediated actions and the possibility of an artwork whose memory could eventually live on-chain. XChain had not yet launched publicly, so the first version deliberately used local browser memory instead. Impatient to let the frog live somewhere permanent, I rebuilt this Tezos edition as a self-contained interactive artifact: vanilla JavaScript, Canvas 2D and Web Audio API, with no external libraries, media files or network dependencies.
The Neocities version remains the living playground. This Tezos edition is the preserved object. Hold to relieve. Drag to aim. Satisfaction affects perception. Wildlife may react.
