Microscopy + PAS staining + photography + digital integration.
Periodic acid–Schiff (PAS) staining is a widely used histological staining technique used to detect structures rich in polysaccharides, such as glycogen, glycoproteins, and glycolipids (e.g., chitin-rich fungal cell walls). PAS stain relies on a sequence of oxidation, aldehyde reaction, and nuclear counterstaining.
