Works based on memories of Paris from my first visit, based on a Proustian evocation of the essence of moments distilled by light and the senses. Each work originates from a surreal image of that most iconic symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, submerged in a pond. Paris is a legendary city, filled with history and lore, redolent with the scent of La Belle Époque, and the promise of magical days and nights in which anything can happen, and often does. "Paris When it Pours” evokes the Tower as a reflection in the glistening puddle of the wet street during a stormy night.
