This artwork is part of my three-part series "Drawers", a series of experimental photographic work. “Schubladendenken” (literally translated "Drawer thinking") is a German word describing stereotypical thinking. Stereotypical thinking is the poison of social coexistence. Prejudices arise, people are disadvantaged and it counteracts social cohesion. Thematically it is about the liberation of life in one's own mind and about the confidence in life to think outside the box.
Nana Hank is a conceptual photographer based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her ways of storytelling and imagery move between surreal and mystical worlds unfurling in cinematic, dystopic and philosphical themes.
