Orion Nebula

This is a starless image of the Orion Nebula and is the first NFT minted by astrophotographer Nick Rosen.

The Orion Nebula is a diffuse nebula that spans 24 light-years across, and is located 1,344 light-years from Earth. This is one of many places in our galaxy where new stars are formed.

The image contains a total integrated exposure time of 4 hours. Hundreds of images were captured at varying exposure lengths and then stacked and blended to reveal the entire dynamic range of this bright and magnificent deep space object. The stars were removed manually to reveal all of the faint and wispy details that make up this magnificent structure.
