“One Cube” is an exploration of fate and contrast.
The Fate On Easter Sunday I made one cube out of stones. On Monday I saw Pak's incredible digital cubes being marketed through Sotheby's. This was the first time I had ever heard of Pak or seen any of his work. I thought the concept of the auction was fascinating and found his work to be beautiful and mesmerizing. I also pondered the coincidence in timing of me creating a cube one day then discovering Pak the next. The more I thought about this the more I wanted to participate, both as a creator and as a collector. This chance encounter inspired me to mint “One Cube” as my first NFT and to purchase one of Pak’s cubes to be a part of history.
The Contrast I’m exploring the realm of me as the digital unknown in contrast to Pak.

Lifespan Me: My cube will fall any day now, possibly blown over by a gust of wind. I built something that nature will eventually take back, but its story will live on in the artwork known as “One Cube” Pak: Historians will speak of this moment for many lifetimes.
“One Cube” will be auctioned starting on the same day as Sotheby’s sale of Pak’s work.
The Story “One Cube” Started as a square that looked like it wanted to be a cube… So I renovated it. I spent a few mornings up before 4am searching for the perfect moment to take a picture. On the third morning the clouds opened to reveal the stars just before sunrise. After setting up my composition, I spent some time painting the cube with light. I am thrilled to have captured this moment before the cube turns back into a simple pile of rocks. The final piece brings me great joy and I hope others will feel a bit of that when they see it.
Thank you for the opportunity so share my story and my work.
The high res TIF file will be unlocked for download as an IPFS link once purchased.
Also, please note that at the time of this writing, I am not verified on rarible yet. You have to have one piece minted before they will verify you, and this is my first piece. If you have any questions about my work, please reach out to me on twitter. @liquidmarbles
