The Oarfish is a terrifying sight to behold. Its characteristic features include a long, bony body that can reach an enormous length of 17 meters as well as a bright red crest. Members of this rare species are often mistaken for Nagas — a race of serpent/dragon gods in several Eastern religions. Oarfish mostly live at the bottom of the ocean, but they come to the surface at night occasionally for unknown reasons. This illustration represents the ancient beast contemplating the moon.
